Something to ponder . . .

“I do not want to die… until I have faithfully made the most of my talent and cultivated the seed that was placed in me until the last small twig has grown.”
—Kathe Kollwitz, 1867-1945

Kathe Kollwitz is regarded as one of the most important 20th century German artists. As one biographer notes, she created “timeless art works against the backdrop of a life of great sorrow, hardship and heartache.” I think her quote is an appropriate response to Jesus’ Parable of the Talents.

I think that this quote is particularly significant considering a “life of great sorrow, hardship and heartache.” How many times do we face hardships and disappointments, and are tempted to stop living? Not ending our lives, but to stop investing our time and talents that God has given us. To stop actively living the faith that has been entrusted to us.

    Great quote to think about!
